Halloween Treats

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!! I made candy corn treat bags for the trunk or treat at Alex's preschool this morning. I used the hostess set Mixed Medley along with some punches and the treat sacks from Stampin' Up!.

I also decided to make something for the teachers and staff at the preschool. I used the stamp set Greeting Card Kids (I told you I LOVE this set) and Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper. I colored the little girls using my aquapainter and reinkers. I really like the way you can shade with this technique and how great the colors look.
Inside each bag is one instant coffee pouch and a biscotti. I thought the teachers would enjoy this treat more than candy!

Happy Halloween!!!

Gift Card Holders

It is time to start thinking of cute ways to package gift cards you might be giving this holiday season. Here are some cute ones made using envelopes! So easy and a definite WOW!!!
Slide the band off and the inside has two pockets, one for a note and the other has a lip to place the gift card into and a circle to write the amount.
Here is the side view showing the pockets.

I love this stamp set (Greeting Card Kids) and color combination (Real Red, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White). This is the card I did for our last "Stamping for Charity" event for the Alzheimer's Association.

End of Year Teacher Gifts

I am hooked on these! I made two more purses as end of year gifts for Alex's preschool teachers. I made them for the entire class to put their cards into the purse and everyone chipped in for a gift card to be placed in the wallet. It is so fun to make these!
Then I couldn't stop! I decided to make each teacher a mini album with pictures of all the kids in the class.
They close small and flat but when opened the pages come out in an accordian style.
That is my Alex on the end!
Each one has this poem on the inside.
I am hoping to spend more time stamping this summer and keeping up with this blog.
Thanks for looking!

Teacher Appreciation

This week is teacher appreciation at Alex's preschool. I did not have a chance to do much (yet) but I did volunteer to provide vases for the teacher's and director's flowers. Each child brought in a few flowers to fill these vases. I could not just send plain vases though....I had to get some stamps and ribbon out.

The name of the class is "Buzzing Bee's" and so here is what I made last year...I guess I need to step it up this year!

Pretty Paper Desk Organizer

I want to share a project I started last week, and finally finished. My Stampin' Up! up line Janet White (http://www.stampingatthewhitehouse.com/) had a group of her down line over to her house last week. I am not sure where she found the idea to make these but she taught us how to make them and then we each made our own.
This was a simple project to do but took me a bit longer because I had Alex with me while trying to create it. Each compartment was made using Stampin' Up!'s milk carton die and the Big Shot. We used Stampin’ Up! Designer Series paper to cover the compartments and make it look like it is a single piece. As you can probably tell I am a fan of black and white and I love it with pink and red. I made the flowers with Melon Mambo cardstock and silver glimmer paper. I used Stampin' Up!'s five petal punch (which is retiring this month) to punch the flowers and a small circle punch for the middle then pieced them together with a silver mini brad.
This is another project I thought would be great to make as a gift set for someone. Maybe with a post it notes holder or an embellished notebook or a calendar? You might be seeing more of these in the future from me.

Another Purse

Here is another paper purse (http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). This is one that is on display at the library. I was thinking I might offer a class to make these. Anyone interested?

Library Display

I love the libraries here in Jacksonville. There are so many branches around town that it is always convenient to stop by one and rent a few kids DVD's and get some new stories to read. My four year old will either get "stuck" on a book and we read it over and over or he will decide he only wants to read a "new" book and even though he has quite a collection of books none of them will do. So we spend A LOT of time at the library.

While I was in the Southeast branch a few months ago I noticed they have a display case right as you walk in the front door.

There was a sign that said you could sign up to display your hobby or craft. I signed up and set up my display on Saturday. It will be there for at least a month for all to enjoy. Stop by and see it if you are in the area!

Purse and Wallet

I have a project to share. I made this purse and wallet set for a friend to give some gift certificates. I got the tutorial for the purse from Becky (http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). I LOVE this purse! I think the wallet alone would make a great way to give some gift certificates for the Holidays or a birthday, graduation even.

First Post

I made the decision to start a blog to share some of my creativity and ideas. I was not sure where to start and I am still not sure if I am doing things correctly. So this will be a work in progress...thanks for joining me.
